PK Commitment
Founded in 1981 by Ronald J. “Pete” Potterpin in Okemos, Michigan, PK Companies originally began as PK Housing & Management Inc., a management company focused on meeting the needs of residents and communities. Today, Pete is joined by his wife Terry, and their children, Chris and Lindsey, in fulfilling this mission. In 1990, PK began acquiring and rehabilitating affordable housing properties, and in 1999, PK Construction Company was established. PK Development Group was added in 2006 to address the growing demand for quality housing in Michigan and beyond.
Currently, PK Companies provides home management services for over 140 residential communities across seven states, collaborating with local investors, government agencies, and communities to provide housing solutions in both rural and urban areas.

PK Companies boasts a diverse portfolio, which includes high-end market-rate housing, but our specialty lies in enhancing housing and conditions in historically underserved communities. We are actively involved in programs such as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Historic Preservation Tax Incentives, New Market Tax Credit, and Opportunity Zones. We maintain strong relationships with national and state offices of USDA Rural Development, HUD, and various local economic development and housing agencies.
